If there are no objections or concerns from other Bigtop PMC members, I
would like to create a development branch for OpenEuler on Bigtop first to
make it relatively non-disruptive.

Increased overhead of CI and release process is primary concern for me.
Supporting only on the latest LTS and the most popular architecture (aarch64?)
could reduce the burden.
# Dropping old supported distros (Debian 10 and Ubuntu 20.04?)
# could be discussed in another thread.

Another concern I guess is committers and PMC members outside China
rarely have knowledge and experience about the OpenEuler.
We can not support it in the long term
without getting continuous contributions from OpenEuler users
and adding committers capable to help release process
while we can try to add it now anyway.

Thanks,
Masatake Iwasaki

Hi chenqiang,

Thank you to your team for all their work on it.
It seems OpenEuler has 300+ organization members and received pretty many
deployments in enterprise users, especially in China.

I'm glad to see that OpenEuler Bigdata SIG offers the support on introducing
OpenEuler into Bigtop and ChenQiang is willing to designate his effort on
making it happen.

Hi, all,
I'd like to start a discussion on "Support OpenEuler OS for Bigtop".

1. Introduction

OpenEuler is an innovative open source OS platform built on kernel
innovations and a solid cloud base to cover all scenarios.

(1) The OpenEuler operating system has coverd mainstream technical
architectures, including ARM/X86/RISC-V/NPU/GPU/DPU etc.

(2) All scenarios application support and development tool chain.

More information can be found on the official website:
https://www.openeuler.org/en/

More and more manufacturers use OpenEuler OS, so we are ready to support
OpenEuler OS for Bigtop.

2. Related work

(1) Support the build of puppet and slaves docker, the base docker can
pull from the OpenEuler web.

PR address: https://github.com/apache/bigtop/pull/1051

Issue address: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/BIGTOP-3873

(2) All components has compiled successfully. (Base branch: Bigtop 3.2.0,
Env arch: ARM/X86)

(3) All components smoke test passed, except ambari component (Analyzing
and solving adaptation python3).

(4) JIRA: BIGTOP-3875 introduced the adaptation work content, including
11 sub JIRAs.

3. Next

(1) A discussion on introducing Bigtop into OpenEuler community Bigdata
SIG has been initiated.

(2) The maitainer of OpenEuler Bigdata SIG OpenEuler community MacChen1(
