Hi, Masatake Iwasaki and the community

Thank you for your feedback. I understand the concerns you expressed in the
above email. Here is some words I would like to say so to assure the long term
maintenance of OpenEuler in Bigtop. As you may know, this contribution of
patchset is done by OpenEuler Bigdata SIG (Special interest group) engineer.
Moving on, the SIG will have dedicated engineer to work on its Bigtop
maintenance. We are also working on some open issues (PS:2) of the Bigtop
project, so to learn, to keep up the pace, and to contribute back to the whole
project.

As far as I know, member companies of the OpenEuler Bigdata SIG are using
Bigtop, which means that there will be feedback from the openEuler community
members when they meet issues, so we can hopefully know the issues quick and
fix them in time.

PS:1 The openEuler community is a dynamic, fast-growing, new community,
currently has Contributor: 13101, user: 1082509, Organization Member: 775. Some
big names include intel, SUSE, etc.

PS:2 some issues we are involving:

Increased overhead of CI and release process is primary concern for me.
Supporting only on the latest LTS and the most popular architecture (aarch64?)
could reduce the burden.
# Dropping old supported distros (Debian 10 and Ubuntu 20.04?) # could be
discussed in another thread.

Another concern I guess is committers and PMC members outside China rarely have
knowledge and experience about the OpenEuler.
We can not support it in the long term
without getting continuous contributions from OpenEuler users and adding
committers capable to help release process while we can try to add it now
anyway.

Thanks,
Masatake Iwasaki
