Hi
i tend to agree with jean-francois here and have an inversed view for
this list
This list first benefits to user that want services (and so reliable
companies in the different realms of OOo activities, not ones having 100
or 1000$ cash flow). I do not trust this page being an advertizing one.
It's a very good idea to make a policy in order to be listed on the
directory. But I'm not sure that a ''registration'' fee even a small
one, is a good idea, because :
1 - it's easier for the big companies (vs the small ones) to pay,
see cor's remark on starting consultants
2 - it's always easier to pay for something rather than to do something
(to contribute per exemple ;-) )
yes and this paid fee will be understood as contribution
i really would prefer that contribution is required instead of only
money. A lot of companies have materials or skills, so they can give
some things back (and usually do not).
Real time contribution and development involvement are valuable things
and paying a fee is the easiest argument not to contribute
