The reason I wanted to keep it there in some form is that it is code we've 
written on top of BK, so it could server as an example. I'm not totally against 
relying on the history of the repo, but the story is a bit weaker because folks 
won't see it directly.
Let's start a discussion thread once the release is out and see if we can 
converge.

I'd just straight remove it. Noone is using it afaik, and contrib
module tend to rot. It'll still be in the git history.
