Hey all,
with my new committer privileges I'd like to run this release and act as
the release manager. Can we get consensus that we do want to release and
on which version? 3.0.1/3.1.0 or maybe both?
To do this I also need someone from PMC to assist me by adding my
signing key to dist.a.o as well as publishing the release after a
potential vote passed.

dependabot commits but especially BVAL-220 (which fixes some
compatibility issues with newer Java SE Versions) could justify a
release on its own IMO. WDYT?
