Glad to hear it works. pdf calculation is not included in the metrics menu at this time, but a routine to calculate 'pdf skill score', i.e., an area common to two pdfs (e.g., model and observations) is available in the code. the routine is: 'calc_pdf' in the code "rcmet2.1.3/src/main/python/rcmes/toolkit/metrics.py".
to access/modify, (1) go to the directory "rcmet2.1.3/src/main/python/rcmes/toolkit", (2) edit the file 'metrics.py' using an editor, for example, "vi metrics.py", (3) look for 'def calc_pdf(dataset_1, dataset_2):' if you are familiar with python, you may be able to use that routine to create an option to calculate pdf's (and cdf's). if you are not familiar with python, we can add it to the next release, but will take a few weeks. Hope this is helpful. Best, ----------------------------------------------------------------- Jinwon Kim Joint Institute for Regional Earth System Science and Engineering and Dept. Now I've two questions : - Is it possible to compute PDFs and CDFs and other metrics? - Is it possible to compute these metrics on other parameters such as 2m temperature, 500mb height, wind at different levels to compare with reanalysis for example? Best regards Rashyd 2014-06-01 12:50 GMT-04:00 Kim, Jinwon <[email protected]<mailto:[email protected]>>: The problem was the correct rcmet.py was not copied to "rcmet2.1.3/src/main/python/bin". Copying rcmet.py in "rcmet2.1.3/src/main/python/rcmes" into "rcmet2.1.3/src/main/python/bin" will resolve this problem.
