Unless we actually decide to release a version "2.0-RC1" (for broader feedback from users etc.) the version in the artifacts we vote on should simply be "2.0". Another thing I'd like to get feedback on from the Commons developer community (I did bring this up a week or two ago though I think it was part of another thread and therefore less conspicuous) is the package name for the 2.0 release -- perhaps you could post the clirr report (IIRC, you looked at it) so everyone can form an opinion.
