I meant that PROPOSAL should not be in the source archive, and nor
should doap or STATUS be added to the source archive - none of them
really belong there.

I've updated trunk/src/main/assembly/src.xml accordingly.

Apart from the Javadoc, the front page says:

"JEXL 2.0 is soon to be released; the current released version is 1.1."

I've removed the files.

For the next RC, maybe you can remove the files before uploading the
rest (whether this is possible depends on how you do the build/deploy.
If not, then they are easy enough to delete after upload).
