I have searched my comprehensive mail archive of all CouchDB lists and I will
highlight every public email thread where those three letters have appeared
together at any point. I hope this will illustrate the point.
The large majority of the instances "PMC" is mentioned is within the context of
a formal, or administrative, email. I think this is the correct, and mandated
use. Which leaves us looking at then the word is used in other contexts. Of all
the threads outside this one, the word "PMC" only appears in two of them that
are not directly related to the official use. In the first instance, Geir
Magnusson Jr. was the first person to use it, prompting one reply from me. In
the second instance Antony Blakey used it three times:

In response, I used it once:

In this light, I would like to make two points:
* Please stop saying that the word "PMC" is bandied about frequently. This is
provably false.
* If you really want to analyse the framing of our community, and the source
of that framing, I think the three quotes above from Antony Blakey can sum
up my feels better than an explicit explanation.
