Paul Joseph Davis commented on COUCHDB-547:
-------------------------------------------
The 'correct' thing would probably be to have that version number inserted by
the build system which is easy enough in theory except that it has the effect
of requiring two files, and then hacking on Futon gets a bit weird. Perhaps we
could do that as part of an install hook or something to have them replaced
inline as part of a `make install`?
Its bugged me for a bit but I can't think of a decent solution. And just
s/0.9/0.10/ seemed to not address the underlying issue.
Does anyone have a decent solution for this in projects outside of Futon?
