WIP patch for this, which we're already using successfully in Ubuntu.
Issues I know about so far:
1) The "Unable to destroy invalid CouchHTTP instance" warning is triggered on
shutdown, but this seems to be mostly inert.
2) Matt Adams experienced a crash in readline on Android when hitting EOF.
