Just to be clear, I'm not arguing against support of newer versions, just that
we shouldn't drop support for 1.7. I'm all for updates to the code and build
system to make couchjs build on as many versions of SM as possible but we
should also consider what it would require for someone to build CouchDB from
scratch on Random Platform X.
