Jason Smith commented on COUCHDB-907:
-------------------------------------
Thanks for your help, Brian!
It is not necessary to mark this WONTFIX. It is a valid request; however you
are right that with today's trend of virtualization, simplified servers in data
centers, and outsourced or cloud colocation, it is not a priority for many
kinds of users.
Franck wrote a great specification in the mailing list for how the config for
this would work. Franck, if you need this feature urgently, I would suggest as
a stopgap to use something like HAProxy to listen as needed and to forward to a
local CouchDB service. It is only a stopgap, obviously, but it can be achieved
today.

> It would be useful to be able to configure couchdb to listen to multiple ip
> addresses in addition to one and all interfaces.
> See http://comments.gmane.org/gmane.comp.db.couchdb.user/7050 for such a
> request.
