IRC log follows:

## Preface ##
## Fauxton ##
[Wed May 27 18:05:56 2015] <robertkowalski>: ok, so we spent a lot of time on
unreliable tests last week, which are now reliable again
[Wed May 27 18:06:16 2015] <michellep>: yay
[Wed May 27 18:06:26 2015] <robertkowalski>: i think michelle is starting to
work on the importer
[Wed May 27 18:06:26 2015] <jan____>: nice!
[Wed May 27 18:06:31 2015] <michellep>: :D
[Wed May 27 18:06:52 2015] <robertkowalski>: and the google summer of code
started
[Wed May 27 18:07:38 2015] <robertkowalski>: active tasks will be finished soon
and garren is moving more and more backbone to react
## CouchDB 2.x ##
[Wed May 27 18:10:09 2015] <robertkowalski>: i worked on the wizard-ticket - i
wrote a cli client for _setup: http://robertkowalski.github.io/nmo/
[Wed May 27 18:10:40 2015] <jan____>: so so so cool
[Wed May 27 18:10:57 2015] <robertkowalski>: additionally i have an erlang
patch floating around which enables talking to /setup_cluster on just one node
[Wed May 27 18:11:10 2015] <robertkowalski>: in your payload yu can then say
remote_node: $ip etc
[Wed May 27 18:11:12 2015] <michellep>: cool
[Wed May 27 18:11:28 2015] <robertkowalski>: and ibrowse will talk to the other
node (e.g. node b)
[Wed May 27 18:11:48 2015] <robertkowalski>: that enables us to stay in one
session/tab for the fauxton setup wizard
[Wed May 27 18:11:51 2015] <jan____>: robertkowalski: oh awesome! gimme :D
[Wed May 27 18:12:31 2015] <jan____>: yeah, I don’t know why I didn’t
consider that
[Wed May 27 18:12:38 2015] <robertkowalski>: will send a PR tonight
[Wed May 27 18:13:16 2015] <robertkowalski>: I think chewbranca has fixed the
race conditions in cassim, which was also a blocker
[Wed May 27 18:13:37 2015] <robertkowalski>: and i think work i saw work on the
tarball PR :)
[Wed May 27 18:14:31 2015] <jan____>: yeah, I fixed an issue that micah found,
but just a little one :)
[Wed May 27 18:14:51 2015] <jan____>: nothing substantial there, still needs a
windows version, and a few more features
[Wed May 27 18:16:07 2015] <jan____>: I worked some on testing Kxepal’s
_bulk_get/_revs patch, but ran into test suite trouble, wouldn’t mind some
feedback from a cluster-inclined person:
https://github.com/apache/couchdb-chttpd/pull/33#issuecomment-105253198
[Wed May 27 18:16:33 2015] <jan____>: overall, I’m worried that we won’t
get 2.0 done any time soon.
[Wed May 27 18:16:59 2015] <jan____>: I’m not sure what to change, but we are
missing a few key people doing some more or less boring work to get things over
the hump
[Wed May 27 18:17:06 2015] <jan____>: I’m not sure how to activate them
[Wed May 27 18:17:52 2015] <jan____>: if anyone has any ideas, please let me
know :)
[Wed May 27 18:17:53 2015] <robertkowalski>: #info jan____ needs help testing
https://github.com/apache/couchdb-chttpd/pull/33#issuecomment-105253198
[Wed May 27 18:18:20 2015] <michellep>: how boring is the work
[Wed May 27 18:18:43 2015] <michellep>: and what kind of skills do you need to
do it
[Wed May 27 18:19:47 2015] <jan____>: michellep: well, it is not new features,
but making sure everything works and is consistent and easy to understand, and
you’d need good understanding of the 2.0 architecture as well as how we got
the slick behaviour of 1.x (lots of hard work :)
[Wed May 27 18:20:07 2015] <michellep>: :/
[Wed May 27 18:20:12 2015] <michellep>: maybe we could barter with them
[Wed May 27 18:20:37 2015] <jan____>: michellep: yeah, realistically, that’s
not a lot of people, and they are all busy :/
[Wed May 27 18:20:45 2015] <michellep>: aw :(
[Wed May 27 18:21:27 2015] <bigbluehat>: jan____: what sort of help is
needed--even broadly?
[Wed May 27 18:21:33 2015] <bigbluehat>: erlang chops? clustering know how?
[Wed May 27 18:22:08 2015] <Kxepal>: bigbluehat: "all and more" I guess (:
[Wed May 27 18:22:29 2015] <jan____>: bigbluehat: yeah, all that, understanding
1.x so well to see where 2.x is different and trying to smooth over the bump
for end-users where possible
[Wed May 27 18:22:43 2015] <bigbluehat>: gotcha.
[Wed May 27 18:22:59 2015] <bigbluehat>: any specific targets? issues? or docs
that even guess at the divide and path at this point?
[Wed May 27 18:23:26 2015] <bigbluehat>: it does sound like a rather vast chasm
:-/
[Wed May 27 18:23:27 2015] <jan____>: bigbluehat: target: ship
apache-couchdb-2.0.0.tar.gz :)
[Wed May 27 18:23:34 2015] <bigbluehat>: hehe
[Wed May 27 18:23:47 2015] <bigbluehat>: tar -...something...I always forget
that bit
[Wed May 27 18:23:55 2015] <jan____>: specific blockers so far:
http://s.apache.org/couchdb-2.0
[Wed May 27 18:24:10 2015] <jan____>: (you need to be logged in)
[Wed May 27 18:24:50 2015] <robertkowalski>: for me the main blockers are
_config, compaction on cluster ports and also missing docs for running the
cluster
[Wed May 27 18:25:27 2015] <bigbluehat>: thanks. very helpful.
[Wed May 27 18:25:49 2015] <michellep>: how much work/how many people for it to
be done do you guys estimate it will take?
[Wed May 27 18:28:24 2015] <jan____>: michellep: I don’t know, with 2-4 key
people, 2-4 full time weeks (where they can concentrate on this without
distractions) might do the trick
[Wed May 27 18:31:15 2015] <robertkowalski>: i will ping the cloudant erlang
team
## Open floor ##
[Wed May 27 18:38:07 2015] <robertkowalski>: I wrote a stream based importer
for couchdb's bulkdocs which consumes LD-Json from csv parsers or mongo db
.find() !
[Wed May 27 18:38:19 2015] <robertkowalski>: will include it in the next nmo
release
[Wed May 27 18:40:26 2015] <robertkowalski>: ASFBot: meeting end
