RWTH Aachen had their 5Gps boost recently and couldn't get enough ;) How's the
situation on your end?
ftp5 has 2 * 1 GBit with bonding, and 32 GB RAM.
ftp4 has 1 GBit, and 8 GB RAM.
ftp3 has 1 GBit, and 12 GB RAM.
All three have far more net output than disk input, so the caches do their
job - but they are limited in size on ftp3 and ftp4.
The middled output for today is: ftp3 15 MByte/sec, ftp4 8 MByte/sec, ftp5
100 MByte/sec.
Can mirrorbrain test latencies?
If yes, you could set the scores higher and test how far we can go - in
first aspect, regarding the caches. Bandwidth would not be the first
bottleneck.
For the efficiency of the cache effect, it would be good if mirrorbrain
could for each file request prefer a server to whom this request recently
already got redirected. Is that possible?
