1. 2019
To have reliably and comparably measured the participation of at least one
underrepresented group at the Apache Software Foundation in at least one stage
of our contributor funnel. I want us to publish that number and start
brainstorming on ways to improve it.
2. 2020
I want us to have raised the awareness of the benefits of diversity and methods
for improving diversity among all ApacheCon attendees. I want us to improve
participation within at least one underrepresented group by 5% and have
captured lessons on what works and what doesn’t in the process of pursuing both
goals.
2. 2025
I want all of our projects to be aware of the advantages of diversity and
inclusion. I want us to have actions in progress to improve our committer
counts from all underrepresented groups who could theoretically add at least
200 committers. I want us to have significantly improved participation within
at least one underrepresented group in such a way that the benefits from that
effort are tangible and can be used as an argument for further efforts.
