You have not been following obviously; but, thanks any way, there were others.
Yes, I have been following this thread, especially since I promised to do something http://documentation.openoffice.org/servlets/ReadMsg?list=dev&msgNo=2394

I see no logic in your comment on including 1.x.x stuff. I.x.x users have there own setup guides. All available on-line. I do not like the idea.
That is ok too. But it appeared to me that you were looking for content so I offered as an outline that was available on the web site and noting that I was updating this for 2.0 Beta.
The only significant thing that has changed with the Windows install is that if you have administrator access you can install for multiple users following the same installation steps.
Whereas the feedback/enquiries that I have are:
- the rpm instructions are incorrect (this has since been debated in this thread)
- I've got Debian, where are the .debs ? (Two answers: 1. using the rpms 2. apt-get from debian.org
- there is no 2.0 Mac OS X version (yet) and we should say so up front
- there are no Solaris installation notes
- what happened to just being able to install from a tarball?
- no one has asked about the other platforms yet (thank goodness)
What is different with the announcement of 2.0 Beta, is that we have more comments and feedback from Linux users than we do Windows users due to the initial provision of .rpms.
The setup guide is providing instructions on installation and configuration. I have no problem with an incomplete draft, but I think it should be tested for accuracy before making it more widely available.
