Most of the trouble you're being put to should be fixed in the
extension. I've been looking at the PHP manual, and I think I can get up
to speed in a reasonable amount of time. Could you point me at the

Okay, I've tracked things further, and will start studying Python.
Meanwhile, the "thumbnail" problem might be related to a parameter on
the "mw-render" command: --imagesize (see:
http://code.pediapress.com/hg/mwlib/raw-file/tip/docs/commands.txt
If it is set to (or defaults to) thumbnail size, that would account for
the observed behavior. /tj/
