Buck, some time ago you wrote to Documentation indicating your interest in working on the project. Clayton or I responded by suggesting that you join the mailing list so you could participate. Apparently you did join. Therefore you are receiving all the messages sent to the list. Many of them will not be relevant to whatever you might be working on related to OOo Documentatiion; that's just the way a mailing list works.
As others have pointed out, if you no longer wish to be on the list, you can unsubscribe. However, then you are unlikely to be able to participate fully.
