Community - If we can start to imagine a roadmap for Fineract, and agree on some of these directions, then we can work on them together. Feb 16th meeting, let's plan to discuss them.
First, we start with the FSIPs (Fineract Significant Improvement Projects). Please review. https://cwiki.apache.org/confluence/display/FINERACT/Fineract+Significant+Improvement+Proposals FSIP-1 nearly done... https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/FINERACT-1908 What remains? FSIP-2. DONE FSIP-3. DONE. Please confirm (@Adam Saghy) FSIP-4. DONE. FSIP-5. SOME PROGRESS. (@alexander) https://cwiki.apache.org/confluence/display/FINERACT/FSIP-5%3A+New+command+processing+infrastructure. <https://cwiki.apache.org/confluence/display/FINERACT/FSIP-5%3A+New+command+processing+infrastructure.> Next, what new FSIPs should we have? - what relatively "big" new areas of work. Some things are planned by teams already working on the project. For example the progressive loan module will continue to evolve. Let's get a few high level things there that are already on those external roadmaps for transparency. Then, there are a number of ideas ... Some of these discussed before and a few I have put into the GSOC "build a proof of concept" group. * Revolving Line of Credit * Negative Balance Current Accounts * More separation of components (see also FSIP 5) * Minimal UI for an operator of the system - fulfilling the idea of Fineract plus a front end is a "batteries included" concept. * Backend for Front End for the Self Service APis / channel APIs * MCP * Additional test coverage for stability and CI/CD * Change databases supported natively * API versioning * Consent mechanism for PII data and storage of consent record (client record) * Loan Origination flow and connection to risk scoring /underwriting processes * Integration ease for external Fraud detection system (e.g. Tazama open source project) * External report mechanism integration options (BI tooling external) * Attribute Based Access Control in addition to Role based * Documentation suitable for deployment audits These need to be sorted but first... take a look and see if I've missed something important. Thanks, James
