Pointers are my preference as well, but are any of those 30 files a subset
of the upstream dependency's license file or is it a complete copy?  I'm
wondering if it is really ok to commit a SUBSET of an upstream license
file.  I have no problem committing a complete copy as a 3rd-party file.
