Most recent example I’ve come across is Hawq [1] >which has 30 odd different license files and pointers to those from the >LICENSE file Pointers are my preference as well, but are any of those 30 files a subset of the upstream dependency's license file or is it a complete copy? I'm wondering if it is really ok to commit a SUBSET of an upstream license file. I have no problem committing a complete copy as a 3rd-party file. -Alex
