Hi list-members,
Several users have reported a problem with RTL text in 3.0. They have
presentations with RTL text containing parentheses. In normal view, the
text looks fine, but in the slide show, the parentheses are reversed.
- This apparently only happens in Windows. One user switched to Linux,
and the presentation text was fine.
- In my environment I have been unable to reproduce the bug, even when
opening the same presentation which caused the users problems. We're
using the same build of OOo, the same Windows XP SP3, with the same
version of Uniscribe installed. Switching fonts has not made a
difference in any of the users' environments.
- One user reported that the problem happened only with presentations
created in 2.4, and opened in 3.0. But with presentations created in
3.0, there was no problem.
I'd like some guidance with this:
a) Any new ideas about how I could reproduce this problem in my
development environment?
b) What is different between text display in normal view and text
display in the slide show that might cause this problem?
c) What changed between 2.4 and 3.0 that may have led to the new problem
with text display? We're talking about a new version of OOo on the same
machine, and this has been reported several times already.
