In that thread the OP was trying to export a PDF from an OOo form using
IPA fonts (International Phonetic Alphabet, for clarity).
A question was asked why the PDF exported combo box didn't show the
correct character.

The PDF found there shows the OP question.
I checked the OOo code and, though I'm not sure, in method
PDFWriterImpl::createDefaultListBoxAppearance the font used seems
Helvetica Regular.
My questions:
is that the right code involved?
If so, in combo box items only Helvetica font is used?
The IPA font is correctly embedded and is rendered on the rest of the
PDF document.
My test carried out with OOo 2.0.4 and Acrobat Reader 7.0.8 on Linux.
