That's exactly what I had in mind when I started the thread.
The combo box items, list box items or any other widget already filled
in the OOo document and persistent in the PDF (not editable with form
filling, but only selectable) should be in the font chosen by the user,
normal font management should apply.
In this way even Asian or _esoteric_ fonts (as the IPA I talked about at
the beginning) would be allowed and the item selectable.
Yes, you are right. Sorry, in my mind it was all the same problem where
it is definitely not.
do you think a new RFE issue can be opened about this topic? I think it
should, unless there is already one opened targeting at this and I
wasn't able to find it.
If I'm not mistaken, issue
http://qa.openoffice.org/issues/show_bug.cgi?id=42985
deals with editing fields.
Yes, that one was what i had in mind.
This edit field issue is still unclear to me, may be should be somehow
managed in case of Asian languages but I don't have a suggestion for
it (yet).
I think we will need to use a system font here; however if we need to
specify the encoding in the font dictionary, this would be the really
nontrivial part IMHO. By the PDF standard the Encoding entry is optional
in the Font dictionary, so perhaps this turns out to not really be a
problem.
If I got you right: are you thinking to force the use of a reader
provided font, the closer to the one needed, the better?
And _that_ is the non trivial part, discovering the closer one?
