Hi all,

I'm trying to figure out a way to use TrueType fonts in a consistent way in OpenOffice.org in both GNU/Linux and Windows, e.g. using the same TrueType in both platforms when selecting the same family name and style; I'm not talking about the font rendering, only the font discovery (listing).

So far with no luck.

As an example, while testing on Windows and Debian lenny, using the DejaVu Project font family [1], on Windows you can use all the 21 available fonts, whereas on GNU/Linux the condensed styles are not available on the font selection dialog (whatever OOo application you use).

This happens with bought TrueType typefaces as well.

Is this a platform limitation on GNU/Linux or designed into OOo?
