I don't really like the way Hivetranse did their Hibernate support.  I
just put a HiveMind "face" on the Spring Hibernate support for what I
did.

The HiveTranse library already covers Hibernate does it not?

As for other examples - the more obscure features (if I can call them
that) that you mention [Paul] (ChainBuilder & PipelineFactory) require
some tinkering to get right and extending the examples code to cover all
these service options would be a great starting point for most.

If you are looking for volunteers to increase the examples, I can
probably spare some time ...
