[~kwin] the osgi option is far easier to handle as environment configuration 
that can be controlled by the outside using placeholder substitution. 
ImportOptions require all consumers to be adapted to provide such an option. 
From a backward compatibility pov a global switch to restore the current 
behavior without any code change is very desirable.
