pointers to start contributing to Jena

Hello Developers,
I am Pavan, I am a graduate student from University of Illinois at 
Chicago. I have used Jena in my course work and academic projects.

I would love to contribute to Jena. I was intrigued by one of the 
features that were suggested as a part of GSoC - "GeoARQ: a geo location 
property function for ARQ" and would like to contribute to that. Is 
anyone working on this currently? I am trying to read and understand 
about this. I was wondering if there are any useful pointers to do some 
reading about this to help me get a good understanding before I start 
working on this.

And, to get used to the process of development and submitting patches, I 
would want to start by working on some minor issues. Can any of you 
please suggest any minor bug/functionality that would be good for a 
first timer to get used to the project and process. Thank you.
