Hello Developers, I am Pavan, I am a graduate student from University
of Illinois at Chicago. I have used Jena in my course work and
academic projects.
Welcome!
I would love to contribute to Jena. I was intrigued by one of the
features that were suggested as a part of GSoC - "GeoARQ: a geo
location property function for ARQ" and would like to contribute to
that. Is anyone working on this currently? I am trying to read and
understand about this. I was wondering if there are any useful
pointers to do some reading about this to help me get a good
understanding before I start working on this.
The GSoC application period has closed now and the results are due to be
announced on May 27th. There is a proposal submitted to Apache for a
geospatial extension.
If you give a few words about what aspect of the system interests you,
I'm sure we can help find something that is close to your interests.
And, to get used to the process of development and submitting
patches, I would want to start by working on some minor issues. Can
any of you please suggest any minor bug/functionality that would be
good for a first timer to get used to the project and process. Thank
you.
JIRA is the place to find things: if anything looks interesting but
you're not clear on the details do ask. Descriptions do seem to suffer
from bit-rot over time.
This is the list of open items in latest first order:
