David Cook commented on JENA-909:
---------------------------------
That's interesting to know about the Fuseki project. I typically contribute to
the Koha open source project, but it is 20+ years old and does have a number of
different companies and academic organisations that contribute to it. I have
never thought of it as a large project, especially in comparison to projects
like PostgreSQL, but it actually seems that Koha has many more contributors
than PostgreSQL (both active and historical). That's interesting.
With Fuseki, I think the "Apache" name adds a lot of clout, so one assumes that
it's a large project, but - as you say - it does seem that Fuseki is quite
small.
I actually discovered Fuseki via a Koha colleague when we were working on a
shared somewhat exploratory RDF project, although that project fizzled out in
the end. I later started to use it with the Fedora Commons open source project,
but in part due to the lack of scalability and HA, we decided not to use it.
Fedora actually stores RDF in a Modeshape/JCR database (which is problematic
and fortunately being changed in the future), and then we were going to make
that RDF publicly available via SPARQL using Fuseki, but yeah...
Is there any chance of RDF Delta being included in Fuseki proper? I am curious
to look at it, but if it's only supported by yourself, that seems a bit risky.
Although if Fuseki is only supported by yourself, it's already a risky choice.
This issue report probably isn't the right place to discuss this. Do you have a
listserv or other discussion forum?
