Please check the Javadocs of MBR class of JAX-RS 2.0 and 2.1 and you will see that my PR is *not* about that spec chapter you talk about but solely about that Javadocs. At JAX-RS there is concensus that the JavaDocs are normative, in *addition* to the spec. And no, I am not wrong in that case. And no, we do not discuss that fact. ;-)
