We wanted to fix spec and TCK before JAX-RS 2.1.6 but the Jakarta Working Group decided that no changes at all must happen and we have to do that *after* Jakarta EE 8. The changes are coming definitively, including a TCK that will claim the Johnzon MBRs as failing. BTW, the Jakarta Spec Committee decided that the final word in the interpretation of a spec and in deciding about compliance has the particular spec project (here: JAX-RS). So independent of any arguments and opinions, there is one official decision, and that is, that *for now* Johnzon's MBRs are de fact not compliant and there is *no regression* in JAX-RS as per final judgement of the JAX-RS committers.
