We have already done the translation of OpenOffice.org 2.1 to Galician
language.

We want to submit those PO files to the OpenOffice CVS and also to keep them
updated constantly for next versions.

These are great news.

But we need information on how to do this. Here they are some of our
questions:

1.-How can we do to submit the translated PO files/GSI file???.

Create an issue for the Localization (L10n) project. To submit an
issue you first need to login into the OpenOffice website, then hit
File Issue on the left hand menu… go to proceed in the next page…
click in the component l10n in the next one… are you are ready to file
it. Select version current, subcomponent code, type ENHANCEMENT,
Summary GSI file for language…., and hit Submit. The system will ask
you if you want to attach a file and what type. Attach the sdf file
and submit it.

2.-Do we need project-owner permissions in gl.openoffice.org???

I don't think so.

3.-How can we know when there will be new po files to translate???

You have to get the new POT files (once a new version is in feature
freeze) and then update your po files.

4.-Since one year ago, we compile the gl versions of openoffice.org and put
them
in www.mancomun.org. If we keep the po files updated constantly, will we
need to
compile openoffice or will you compile them and put the files to download
from
download section on www.openoffice.org????

Every lang has it's own language pack. To have a full version
supported by OpenOffice.org, read this:

http://www.mail-archive.com/[email protected]/msg02480.html

5.-We sent the JCA and we don't have any answer about this... How long can
it takes???

I don't remember that because I did it in 2001. And that's a long time ago :)

6.-Is there any guide step-by-step on how to do all these things???? It's
not clear how to do those kinds of things???

If it doesn't exist, it probably should.

P.D.: Sorry about the english

If you need more answers in Spanish (sorry I can understand Galician
but I don't speak it) you can contact directly to me.

Regards,
