Hi all,
I checked the archives and it looks like my messages didn't get into
the mailing list. So, even if all it's already decided, I am going to
summarize them in this message for documentation purposes, as I think
my opinion is important in this thread.
Thanks. Your feedback is important on this matter.
Unfortunately the localizers are not, since they do the work on this
locale, they want it to remain as original. After some talks with Eike
the best solution is the qcv_ES choice which already works on the
localizer internal build and could work for ours as long as they keep
it on the UI level and get it out of store documents.
On 10th August 2007, SIL International rejected the petition to
incorporate qcv_ES into ISO 639-3 to identify Valencian as a separate
language from Catalan, as you can read here:

I am not very comfortable talking about politics in a software mailing
list, and I even think it's quite sad that we have to do it, but the
main reasons for the rejection were these ones:
While I don't want to talk about politics on the OpenOffice.org lists, I
would like to see a decision which is
as politically correct as possible.
Let me talk to Eike on this and come back to you.
Thanks,
Rafaella
