If all three cfoutputs are acting on the same query, use group in the outter
most one but group on something unique like a row id.

<cfoutput query="someQuery" group="UniqueID">

        <cfoutput group="TheRealGroupingColumn">

                <cfoutput>

                </cfoutput>

        </cfoutput>

</cfoutput>

No idea if that works, just an idea.
Yeah it does work... :) Done that one before... I think I actually had 3 groups - made my brain bleed writing the query....
