But how would I group that?
Just so u understand why I have to do this.

I have 3 tables that allow me to define server components

Components : componentID, component
Component_fields : fieldID, fieldNname, componentID
Component_data : fieldID, data

Components are the actual hardware components themselves, e.g Disks,
motherboards, memory, etc
Component fields are dynamic fields that you want to collect data for about
the components e.g vendor, make, model, etc
Component data is the values of the component fields.

So I just load the lot into a query and then group them by the componentID,
so I get individual sections in my page for each component.
Thus why I need grouping.

I haven't used it myself, so I'm not sure how you'd do it, but how about
using the repeater cfformgroup?
One grid inside the repeater both of which are fed by a query.
