OMG!! Its alive!!
Right, anyone know what this odd error is and/or how to fix it? Periodically, all our sites on a CF server (running CF5, don't ask why) stop and all report the same error - "A problem was encountered trying to access the system registry. Error number 6 occurred." Its not the most helpful error in the world, but the cf server just won't function until its restarted whenever it occurs. It has our server maintenance company (Netstore nee Intercea) scratching their heads. Anyone seen it before?
Normally I would say, as has everyone else has, that this is client variable storage related, but you've said that client vars are being stored in MS SQL. However thats windows error 1450, not 6 anyway Windows error number 6 is "The Handle was invalid" (net helpmsg 6) - a bit of a search around to see what this means leads me to think that maybe possibly perhaps you have one or more corrupted entries in the registry on your server..... How you would determine this definately or how you would fix this..... ~shrug~ no idea sorry.....
