>- see footer for list info -< I think I have run into your error a few times as well. If I am correct, it has nothing to do with your database or any new column that you are creating, and more to do with a little known bug in CF7.
Russ would be able to explain more about this, but in a nutshell, on some very large tables, if you add a new column, you will need to restart CF before using the db again, otherwise ColdFusion tries to use a copy of the "old version" of the db (which does not have the newly created column) and hence CF craps its pants. I first noticed this problem when long-standing queries started to cause errors, ALL of them were of the "SELECT * FROM myTable" nature; none of the queries where I specified the fields I want caused a problem. Took me ages to work out that a simple CF restart would fix it! Anyways, I hope that sheds some light on it. I know it's not ideal to have to restart CF every time you make a DB change, but it seems to be the only way of being certain... Really weird. I suppose I'll wait a few days, see if the host reboots sometime and change back the code to see if it runs ok. Not a very technical fix. ---------------------------------------- From: Jim <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Sent: 09 August 2006 09:53 To: Coldfusion Development <[email protected]> Subject: Re: [CF-Dev] Unsupported data conversion >- see footer for list info -< I just got the exact same error, but for something different: AND CategoryID = cfsqltype="CF_SQL_NUMERIC" value="#call.categoryID#"> Restarted CF, problem went away.
