Gordon:

you could use JS an image file to get the count?

i.e.

<a href='mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]' onclick="registerClick()">email us</a>
<img src="null.gif" alt="" border="0" id="nullImage" />

<script ...>

function registerClick()
{
img = document.getElementById('nullImage');
img.src = '/countme.cfm?rnd=' + Math.random();
}
</script>

countme.cfm will register the click.

Note: make sure that countme.cfm returns a valid image.

Hi,

I have a site which lists suppliers and their email address web site etc.

We measure the clickthrus from the web link successfully but would
like also to measure how often site users click on the email link.

The link is simple Mailto: which of course fires up their email
client. If I redirect the email link to another page which can
capture the action is there a JS action that one could rely on that
would fire up the visitors email client.

Any and all suggestions gratefully received.

Gordon
