Gordon, if you're familiar with any ajax solution, note that you could
easily send the track of the click using ajax while still sending the email,
all in the onclick for the href tag:

<SCRIPT LANGUAGE="JavaScript" TYPE="text/javascript">
<!--
function tracker() {
        // do ajax call to track the click
        // and to prove that the method runs and the email still fires,
here's an alert
        alert('tracked it');
}
//-->
</SCRIPT>

<a href="mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]" onclick="tracker();return true">test</a>

Subject: [CF-Dev] Measuring Mailto Clicks

>- see footer for list info -<
Hi,

I have a site which lists suppliers and their email address web site etc.

We measure the clickthrus from the web link successfully but would like also
to measure how often site users click on the email link.

The link is simple Mailto: which of course fires up their email client. If
I redirect the email link to another page which can capture the action is
there a JS action that one could rely on that would fire up the visitors
email client.

Any and all suggestions gratefully received.

Gordon
