Spot on!  Exactly right.  Smoothwall/ipcop (basically same thing, just gpl -
long story) are very very simple to install and use, taking a minimum of
linux knowledge to set them up (if in fact you need any knowledge).

Have updates that can install themselves, etc... Really really easy.

If you want a firewall, just don't go down the MS route.  As has been said,
smoothwall is install and forget.

PS If you've ever sat down to build a firewall in linux (using a firewall
HOWTO) then you'll know how complicated it is to get it right.  Sticking
smoothwall on a machine is the easiest and most sensible thing I've done wrt
firewalls.  It'll take a huge amount to move me away from it.
