> What sort of processes did you find to be slower?

Each hit to our site calls in about 40-odd pages. I couldn't identify
anything obvious except a general slowing down. The processing-time
reporting does differ between 5 and MX so a detailed comparison was
difficult.

whatever?

Queries seem to take the same amount of time.

> Were you using the same web server?

Same web server - same server. I installed and uninstalled on the same
machine.

uses SMP?)

It was the trial version.

> Which OS ?

W2000 Server

2xPIII450 and 1 gig RAM.

I would love someone to convince me otherwise with some real advice, but
just haven't found any. I am not against MX in principle. I wouldn't have
spent a month on it otherwise. However, I had to accept defeat eventually.
