fantastic! there we go then. In the scripting (not programming) world of coldfusion, there's a lot of fear about OO. its funny, because when it was announced that cfmx would be java based, there was a lot of grumbling about developers having to learn Java until MM came out and said "Hey you developers! You won't need to learn Java! You can carry on as before!" However, the introduction of CFCs and the perceived need to use them has meant that actually, as developers, we WILL need to understand OO concepts, despite the abstraction layer. Of course, there are many developers who understand it very well and who'll be scratching their chins wondering what all the fuss is about, but remember that CFML attracts scripters from the design world as well as programmers, and these people might have a hard time understanding low level programming concepts.
