I don't have access to the box this site is on, and it's a pain in the arse
to get them to do anything regarding the server.  I'm going to write a
little .cfm page that just iterates through the directories and inserts the
code at the front of all .php files.

I'm sure there's some way to do it in IIS (which I'm assuming you're
using) but I wouldn't know about that...  :)

Alternatively, if this app is the only thing running on the box (or
rather with the specific php.ini file) you can modify the value for
auto_prepend_file in the php.ini file directly.

Or, if it's not the only site running PHP, you could always do the
modification anyway and in the script you prepend do a check on the host
name or similar?
