I don't have access to the box this site is on, and it's a pain in the arse to get them to do anything regarding the server. I'm going to write a little .cfm page that just iterates through the directories and inserts the code at the front of all .php files.

Or, if it's not the only site running PHP, you could always do the modification anyway and in the script you prepend do a check on the host name or similar?
