Well I am currently
having a similar problem with CF5 (linux) and a separate MySQL DB server , CPU
peaks at 100% and stays there until the cfserver process is killed but memory
stays normal (but httpd requests to Apache understandably go to max limit)..
this happens, as you mentioned richard, at seemingly random intervals and
nothing in the logs points to any one thing in particular.
Hair-tearing time all
round I think !

Problem
we have
two web servers with CF on and a separate server dedicated to
DBs
if the
access DBs lived on the Dedicated DB server would any Access related issues
such as memory leaks cause issues on the 2 web servers
?

cf-dev ] Load Problem
Anyone
have any idea what would cause the load shown in Cluster CATS explorer to
shoot up to 100% and stay there?
Also,
anyone know what this load actually means - i.e. is it the CF Server
running at 100%?? the simultaneous requests have reached the
limit??
our
servers are shooting up to 100% everyday at some point and we can't
pinpoint why? (pretty sure it isn't just traffic as they usually hang at
about 10-20% when behaving themselves)
