<rant> the big problem is - as the DRC report released this week mentions - that accessible web sites need to make aesthetic/layout compromises to be entirely accessible (no left nav bars being the most obvious example - at least until all screen reader progs develop to the point wher they can handle 'em), and most web developers (current company excluded, of course ;-) still seem obsessed with Flash. I've even come across sites which are entirely built as _one Flash movie_ (not even a separate movie for each page) - which is about as _in_accessible as it gets...
Come October, when section 3 of the DDA comes into effect, I reckon Flash is gonna be dead in the water - or at least retreat to where it should be, used occasionally for interactive graphics. </rant> Ian W ----- Original Message ----- From: "Damian Watson" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Sent: Friday, April 16, 2004 10:23 AM Subject: RE: [ cf-dev ] Website accessibility in the UK > Because w3 is so goddamn dry- I wish they'd build their site better but > I guess a million people have already told em that.
