Hi Paul.

If you Install Enterprise manager then open up the Books on-line. It has a section on
Registering New Servers. Its under Administering SQL Server -- Managing Servers --
registering Servers. The bit about Enterprise Manager is what you are looking for.

If you want unfettered access use the sa account. Failing that your techy/DBA will
have to create a user account for you.

If they've set the server up in mixed security mode you can add a username and
password. If its been set up to use DOMAIN security then you'll need to get them to
add your DOMAIN login as a user to the server first.

regards
