Thanks! It's so frustrating when you know it's something silly but yet you keep missing it... I somehow couldn't connect what I've read with what was going on. IIRC, files in "default" are read first, then the custom skin. On top of that I'm having another issue, which is I can't seem to find the way to select between the Customer and Agent skins in my modules; surely I missed it while skimming through the documentation...
