Yes, that was the reason I did it this way. I noticed that Intel image
does not contain prepackages section and packages are still installed in
the correct order so I followed this approach. Prepackages in RD-PQ
image were defined incorrectly which caused the filesystem package
install failure as I described here:
https://lists.tizen.org/pipermail/dev/2013-November/000742.html
I was also told that prepackages are not currently supported by mic's
yum backend [1] . I don't know if we care about yum backend at all, but
that's another thing that make prepackages potentially more problematic.

def preInstall(self, pkg):
# FIXME: handle pre-install package
return None

Oh, that's really a good news. The reason of so many prepackages in ks is the
plenty of packaging errors in original tizen packages. If all the errors are
fixed, the prepackages can be cleaned up in theory.

Prepackages are not needed for 3.0. and the basic system packages can be
installed in the right order according to their runtime dependence. On x86
side, this is also verified: without prepackage, the image is good to be
created and boot.

Hi
This is Jinkun Jang
Because I do not understand your patch, I did not review.
"Without this change generated RD-PQ images are completely unusable."
Why do you remove all PrePackages for RD-PQ.
I agree that they many packages can be removable and have to be.
But some packages can be installed before installing other package.
Could you explain your patch more detail?
Thanks
Jinkun Jang
