You can take a look at the Modello_Installer package, specifically the spec
file. In there I’m using su app –c to execute the install as app, even though
I’m currently root. So for example:

su app –c “xwalkctl –I Modello_Homescreen.wgt”

This allows you to satisfy the need of being root to install the rpm, and the
need to be app when using xwalkctl.

Hope that helps.

Subject: Installing On Crosswalk

I have been working crosswalk 7 on Jun 02 snapshot of ivi. I've been able to
install and run apps but only as app user. I have been unable to do this as
root. I have an rpm that installs the apps but I need to be able to run the
xwalkctl instructions to install the app. How do I do that with an rpm. If
this is an existing Jira issue please share with me. If you think I should
post one let me know. This seems to be a simple 'sudo' like command that would
allow me to run commands as app.

Thanks,
